hello
I am trying to create architectural prestentation in realtime engine. I created building, textured it in UVMapping editor, placed in a ground, added camera from walktrough.blend and… it is working, but the faces of the building aretn’t shaded. I mean they all have the same bright like the texture. I thought that maybe it need some lights. I imported my building to Park.blend file that I found in internet. There are nice shaded fountain, trees and other objects. But my object stayed flat, without any shading. When I deleted all lights at this scene other object became flat too. Maybe you know where is hidden secret of shading UVMapped object - please heeeeellllpppppp!!!
best regards…raviz
Select your building press “f” then press “w” and select “light” now your object will be effected by light and make sure it’s on the same layer as the light(s).
if you are quite familiar with blender (and radiosity) radiosity may be a better approach.
the file that they have (with the stairs and stuff) was illuminated with radiosity. It can look more realistic, but takes time and is a good bit of work.
look up radiosity tutorials for blender and poke around in my thing at

thank you for the answers; it was so easy

PS: I was thinking about radiosity, but I would like to know better basics of Blender, like shading I was asking.
