Shader Nodes - Question / Feature request

Poser uses in its material room a shader node system similar to the one used in Blender. However, the Poser nodes have small preview images which show what the node does or which image is loaded into it. This maks creating and understanding shaders a lot more intuitive.
Is there a special reason why Blender does not have this feature?

You can use an Addon called ‘Node Wrangler’. Then if you want just to see what a specific node output is, Ctrl+Shift+LMB on the node, and the script will connect the node directly to the shader output, overpassing all the other nodes, so in the viewport you’ll see only the selected node.
If the node is a texture, it will create an emission node and connect to the texture automatically.
