Shading/Crease issue with mirror modifier?

Alright guys, I am having a really odd error when modeling/sculpting in blender. First off here are some images of the issue.



The issue seems to get worse when I turn off merging. I’ve tried deleting the mirror modifier, and reseting the pivot point of the model. Which did help somewhat, but the issue is still there. Any ideas on how to fix it?

P.S. This is my first sculpt so be kind :stuck_out_tongue:

Ensure the centre vertices are actually on the mirror axis or increase the merge limit to ensure all vertices are merged

How would one go about doing that?

Ensure the centre vertices are actually on the mirror axis
Select a vertex in the centre line and have a look where it is

or increase the merge limit to ensure all vertices are merged
Look in the mirror modifier when you have Merge enabled (look at your top screenshot)

Select Clipping.

or - if it does not work

If you have two edges very close to end make sure all the vertex of Z axis is same value.

Post the image in edit mode.
