Shading/texturing question..... Hiow do you go around it?

Being a newb when it comes to 3D modeling, while I texture paint my first piece, I tried to mimick my reference image… then I thought, the lighting is based on the angle view of the image, so if I would look at the model from a different angle, the surface would reflect light in different ways… so this brought up a dilemma of how much to paint/shade parts and how much to leave it to the rendering process, so that it both has some depth, but it also ‘acts’ realistically…?

How do you umm go about this?

in 3D you should not take care to paint shadings on model
this is taken care with light set up

but if it is a 2D flat model then might not really have a choice !

Hi

As Ricky say…You do not paint shadow on 3 d model…unless You have a special reason for it.

Paint Your model as You want…It’s the light You setup or a Hdri there make shade/shadow.

If You paint bump map…Then remember allways to have a good side light in Your scene…To see the bump better.

Show us something…)
