Shadow larger than the object being shadowed

Hey thanks a lot man! Just another quick question about shadows. My shadow seems to bigger than my cube? I tried moving the light around, on top and on the sides. When the cube is in front of the light, the shadow of the cube isn’t a rectangle shadow like it would be in a default scene, but a trapezoid! Is there a way to fix this?

There’s a lot of ways that this may happen. What kind of lamp are you using? Which renderer? It probably would be best to include a .blend file.

Just open up your Blender, put a platform on your cube. Everything is set to default. Blender Render Engine.
