shadows in game engine

here i go again… another newbie question…

how do i create objects that casts shadows during runtime/gametime…

This is not a noobish question at all! In fact, you cant. Not, at least in the sence you’re talking. You have to texture the shadows on the floor. Here’s a great tut.

When The OGRE graphics engine is integrated, you won’t have to do this.

The OGRE intergration will allow realtime shadows, but like all effects it will slow the game down to a degree especially if there’s lots of them. One good thing that should be added with OGRE would be lightmapping so you can place any number of static lights and calculate the shadows.
