Why does the water shader go opaque where the spotlight shines (it surely can’t be the specular reflection)?

Also on the game engine/render engine confusion, it could be in part due to how you’re adding game-like features to the engine (such as a third-person movement mode using a game controller), a standalone render engine with a realtime/IPR mode usually won’t have much more in terms of movement than basic camera controls.
