Hello! This is my first big ‘problem’ since starting out with Blender and I’m very much a newbie. So I’m having an issue where in my Render Viewport the shadows appear just fine, but then in the actual Rendered image it isn’t visible. (see below)

I’ve hunted down and tried basically every solution that everyone before me with a similar problem had, but nothing has worked for me. No invisible objects, no missing shadow toggles, .

For better reference, I’m using Blender 5.2 on a macOS. Please let me know if you need more screenshots of my work area to dissect the problem more!

Hello and welcome aboard!

I’m probably not going to be a lot of help to you. But let me point out there is an error message at the top of the render window - “Error during render. See the System Console for more info.”

To open blender’s System Console - Window menu → Toggle System Console.

Good Luck,
Randy

Thank you so much for the quick response!
Unfortunately-- and I have no idea why this is the case-- the macOS version of ver 5.2 doesn’t have that option on either toggle. Here’s some screenshots of both for reference!

The “switching” to the console is AFAIK only available for windows. For linux i do know launching via commandline is possible ( i do so.. 😉 ), for mac i’m not sure how do do that. Ssee also [Docs-Blender Manual: troubleshooting → crash](https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/crash.html)..

Is there any other objects than those we see in the outliner ? Which may do have some visible /unvisible settings ??

Meanwhile you also might be able to share the file (\< 5MB, maybe delete unnecesary objects and compress in export dialog ⚙ menu ).

You could also test rendering it with cycles and see are there shadows then present. This could help troubleshooting if the error is in the working of Eevee or in some other parts of the scene. You can set the noise threshold for rendering to be the same as in default viewport (0.1) to make it render faster. Or if it’s still taking too long you can force cycles to abort rendering in the middle of a frame by pressing esc button.

Also there’s no harm in updating your drivers, just in case. 🤔
