Can anyone explain to me what Shift+F does and why it brings me into an FPS-type camera thingamajig?
Correct me if I’m wrong… But I believe that it’s just a sort of “flythrough” view. If you roll your scroll wheel it’ll pan in and out, you can move your mouse to go in different directions. Also, if you go into camera view and hit it, you can position the camera so that if you right click when you’ve found a view you like, it’ll stay there (if you left click it’ll just cancel positioning it).
Ah, I see, thanks.
no problem!
as pkhs said…this quick tip should explain it all, in case youre interested: http://cgcookie.com/blender/2010/04/29/tip-using-the-camera-fly-mode/
fudge potatoes…interesting idea.
SHIFT-F also has some modifier keys as well. If you press SHIFT-F then F again the mouse wheel will crane you up and down. If you press SHIFT-F and D the mouse wheel will dolly you left and right.
Thanks for the CGCookie link, and the dolly tip.
