Well you obviously put a lot of work and effort in this so, just for finishing an animation project - well done!
I think the modelling and texturing is really good, on the simple side, but I think you managed to create some style in this piece. Some of the camera work was good as well, had a ‘movie’ feel about it without being OTT. The animation could use some work here and there, but that’s probably the hardest thing to do, and you did well! I’m guessing this is a college/uni project?, if so good luck!
Thanks mate, It’s a high school project
I did it for my major work for multi-media. Thanks for the great feedback!
Good work. It’s tough to tell a story with no dialog, but you did well. I enjoyed it, especially the little visual jokes like his showering with WD40. heh. Hope to see more soon. With all that experience under your belt, the next one shouldn’t take much more than, what? six months, tops.
Thanks for the great feedback guys!
Please subscribe to my channel if you get a chance!
This is excellent. Great atmosphere and the music was just right. Congratulations on this, very nice work!
Thankyou!

I hope you don’t mind a little constructive criticism.
Overall, really good. I especially liked the walk cycle where he kinda snaps; it was specific to the character, which is uncommon but good. The finger animation had a lot of character as well.
The animation had a few slippy parts with the hands, which really stands out as unnatural. Especially where the character is drawing, it looks like he’s waving a pen over a piece of paper. But drawing is very, very, hard to do. Reaching for a towel felt like the hand was floating in space.
The shower curtain is a bit strange and doesn’t really look like it fits with the rest of the scene. Also, it looks like the WD40 passed through it at one point.
The rings dropping wasn’t really clear to me. Why did they fall? I think that should have been zoomed out to see the whole character, but that would have made the animation more difficult.
The window was really flat. It would have been nice to have a dim interior instead of just black, which can be done in 30 minutes with some blendswap models, and it’s well worth it.
One problem with the blendswap models is that they’re all made by different artists, so you need to tailor them to your scene. Some things like the iPhone looked very out of place.
The lighting was a little off. Some scenes were dark and some were very bright. Personally, I think the inside scenes didn’t have enough contrast, and everything was kinda bland.
And a general tip is that animation is more believable if you add some random camera movements, because no film is perfectly stable. There are some good tutorials on this.
Another general tip: bump maps are great and help out on most textures, but I kinda like these scenes being flat in a lot of places.
There’s a lot of stuff that could be improved, but don’t think I didn’t like the animation, because I did.
Thanks so much for your feedback GreenJello!
I really appreciate your comments and totally agree with them! This was my first attempt at animating and rigging a character and I can’t honestly say animating was my favorite aspect of the project haha. Thanks for the detailed comment and I will definitely be sure take it all into account on my next project!
It’s a nice animation. It’s not “perfect” but then again nothing is really perfect is it? nice work none the less
You said it was a high school project. I’m assuming you’re in the 11th or 12th grade.
Also, how long have you been using Blender?
This is nice, I like this little short
Very nice job, the only little drawback is that the animations look a bit “stiff” but Its probably pretty hard to get it just right
In all, very good work!
