Hi i am making a short film, and have researched this matter a number amount of times… NOT walking through a wall, having a charecter punch the wall…
the question is how should i do this…
is the procedure to have animation path for the hand to follow setting the hand as dynamic and the wall as static, thus playing it…
OR
how would have animate a charecter walking along a floor so that the feet does seep through…
Such things are accomplished by 2 simple things: careful keyframing of the hands/feet and IK. I just did a video explanation of what FK/IK is and how/when to use them with an example. Basically, you keyframe the hand/foot where you want it and set the limb to IK, it will stay in it’s position until you move it again despite how the body moves. The video is here:
how about when my humanoid with its armature, is moving around, how would i stop the fingures from going through each other or a bit of the arm being folded and overlapping the chest
