Hi there.
I’m very excited to be finishing my latest short film called Whole. It’s my graduation film from The National Film School of Denmark where I’ve attended a course in fllm directing for the past three years.
It’s about a girl who just lost her boyfriend, leaving a large missing hole in her stomach. Her girl friend attempts to help fill out the hole with alcohol and partying, but the girl finds a more holistic solution: She must go into a trance and find her inner power animal. But what she finds is not exactly what she expected.
Here’s a teaser trailer:
The 12 minute short film will premiere in a couple of weeks, on June 6th, inside the wonderful cinema of the film school. Blenderheads who are in the area are welcome to attend the premiere which will feature Whole, plus five other great new animated shorts.
The evening starts at 16:30 with screenings at 17:00 and 18:00, with drinks afterwards. It will be available online later in the year after a festival circulation.
The film is made in collaboration with The Animation Workshop, and rendering was done using the excellent RenderStreet.st service. It is animated completely in Blender and rendered with Cycles.
Thanks to the awesome team and all the great people who helped out.
We made extensive use of new Cycles features, including subsurface scattering and volumetrics. The film is also stereoscopic, using 3D glasses to create a hypnotic trance sequence!
Here are a few images from the film:
