shortcut keys for select modes, vector rendering?

Just a noobie question, apologies if this is too basic, but I’ve been searching for this in the blender manual and forums without success. Are there any shortcut keys for picking select modes in blender? V for vertice, E for edge, or F for Face fore example? Of course it doesnt work that way at the moment, but I’m a keyboard guy, I was wondering if there was.

Also, is there a vector rendering option? If I wanted to export to adobe illustrator for example? Is it also possible to export a series of frames in vector, not necessarily using sflender? I’d be happy with ctrl-R in Flash (import to library/stage - import the entire series of images) option but having the option to import both raster and vector renders.

I’d like to use blender to pre-render animated images of game sprites and import them into flash. Currently, I’ve been using swift3D and that fits the bill, but, I sort of like how the blender interface works and the fact that blender supports Inverse Kinematics.

Just experimenting and looking at my options.
Please advise, Thanks.

Rendering is the process of making a rasterized image of the scene, so in our little world here, “vector rendering” is actually an oxymoron. You can save a subset of your .blend file in other formats; available file exporters are located off the main menu, File->Export.

Thanks PapaSmurf.

I wasnt aware of that. I’ve looked at the blender export options and it doesnt include export to ai. I do know that you can import .ai files into blender, using the import paths option. That being the case, I guess I should have asked if it was possible to export to paths using blender.

Ctrl-Tab in Edit mode. Pick from the popup (or key 1,2, or 3).

Btw it’s Vertex, plural Vertices.

Ctrl + Tab, got it. Thank you very much sir.

what do you want to export as ai?
the rendered image or curve objects in blender?

Vector rendering is not an oxymoron, rendering by definition is to interpret something and express it in a different format. It does not matter what you render the 3D scene to, whether it’s a vector based drawing, a rasterized image or chisel it from stone.

You might want to see if VRM suits your needs, it’s not very advanced at the moment but depending on what you want, it might get the job done.

Mystery

VRM looks good, checking it out now.
Thank you Mr. Mystery sir.

LOL, looks like someone else is looking for a vector renderer/export to paths option.
