Shotgun (scene added)

here is a little shotgun i whipped up in about 4 hours more screenshots coming soon, i am going to post 2 more views and a wireframe any more requests, my final idea is to put it hanging on a wall like a trophy what do you think here it is,

Looks good, but I would use lots of subdivisions and maybe tap smooth a couple of times, instead of using set smooth, which tends to give a bit of a rubbery look.

here is the other two views i promised and the wirframe view

12163 faces

I’m no gun collector but it looks to me like that connection between the shell resovoir and the barrel of the gun is curved too much. And I think the stock is a bit too “chunky”. But I like the texturing on the metal and I think overall its pretty cool. Do you intend to use it for anything?

I agree, the stock would look more authentic were it to have a sharper angle at the back where it’s rounded. Maybe even a piece of corrugated rubber. BTW I used to work as a trap boy, so I’ve seen alot of shotguns.

is this what you guys were talking about with the stack thats as flat and as basic as it goes

No i don’t really intend on using it for anything but anyone who is interested on using it for a game or animation or something can feel free to ask me to use it if they so wish and i will pass them the blend file

got rid of a few faces now 10726 faces with 2 subsurf
with 1 subsurf it is 2770 but still has all its quality

here is the near completed scene just have a photo or something else (suggestions please) to put on the fireplace i would appreciate it if more people had c+c on my work but hey what can you do

Looks good, and the stock looks more authentic now.

any suggestions on what i can add to the scene or to the shotgun
thanks

How about one of those wooden duck decoys

dont like the candles or the lighting, maybe darker, make it look like theres a fire

here is a darker render that makes it look more atmospheric like a horror movie or something

nice, but u need a soft orange halo light in the fire place to make it look like theres a fire, and changer the candle holders

here is an update with the changes that skeletor mentioned thanks for your input it has made it look a lot better

tell me what you think now then

The wood texture on the picture frame needs to be changed, and the candle holders are made of wood, which seems dangerous to me.

YEA, DO THTA, AND ALSO CHANGE THE PICTURE, IM PART RED-NECK, AND IT WOULD BE A PICTURE OF A DOG, SORRY FOR THE CAPS!

Brutal. I think maby the texture on the wood on the actual gun is a bit, well, obvious? I dunno if that’s realy the best way to describe it.

Also, shouldn’t the wooden cocking thingy thing (I’m not exactly a gun expert) be a bit further forward? So it can be pulled back to cock the gun? Maby, I dunno. Good work anyway.

skating cow : thanks for the advice but thats how it was on the reference picture. i will have a look what different textures look like on the gun also.
Desoto-111: i have wooden candle holders i was just trying to make it look more olden day.
Skeletor: i like the picture but i will see what a dog looks like just to humor you :stuck_out_tongue: just kidding

cahnged a few things apart from the picture as i like that:
changed the texture on the frame
changed the wood texture on gun for a softer one
gave the picture a more painted look
here it is

tell me what you think
