Should Blender Plugins Be Wrapped In OFX?

I’m reading on OFX or OpenFX Plugin format by the Foundry, it’s a free and open standard.

OpenFX is a free video effect plugin standard supported by numerous applications such as Nuke, Digital Fusion and Toxik.

This guy developing Ramen Compositer blogged this.

http://blog.ramenfx.org/blog/2010/07/19/blenders-defocus-node-as-an-ofx-plugin/

he’s using blenders blur/focus node and have wrapped it into an OFX format, is there anything to gain for blender if all the nodes where wrapped into this format and threaten such internally , maybe it can become and exchange format and more nodes can get into blender compositor.

or maybe attract people from compositing world with programming skills to do work on the actual source code for blender nodes.
