Given that no animation gets rendered before frame 1, I have been placing my keyframes on the odd frames [01, 11, 21, 31…] when timing to the second (30fps). But today I was thinking about how the grid divisions are on the even frames [00, 10, 20, 30…] and wondered if it would help to stay organized visually to place keyframes on the 0’s when possible instead of 1’s, and I want to ask the community which you guys prefer and why?
I always start of frame 1
But this is just personal preference. I have never tried starting on frame 0.
Cheers, Clock.
I tend to start at frame 0 (personal preference, too). It’s possible to start rendering from frame 0, you just have to set it so on the render prefs.
I generally start on frame 1, for no particular reason. If it helps you organize your thoughts to start on frame zero, go for it.
I usually start at 1, but I have used zero and negative numbers. It depends on my mood and what I am working on. I use the negative space to help make cyclic animations. I find it’s easier for my small brain to figure out overlapping actions this way.
Thank you everyone!
Wow, I don’t know why I had it in my head that the start frame had to be 1 or higher.
This opens up new possibilities. Exactly the info I was looking for.
