Shrinking object using the algorithm used in "Solidify"

Hi there!

I created a simulation where I shoot particles at teeth, where they die but are still rendered. Because I have millions of particles, they are very small. The problem is that some of them are poorly visible since they are stuck very close to the surface of the model.

So what I would like to do to solve this problem is to scale down the teeth, but I can’t do that from the center, I need a similar algorithm to the one used when you apply thickness using Solidify, e.g. shrink it down orthogonally. Do any of you guys know how I can solve this problem? I really need to get this done soon!

Instead of scaling by hitting S, try alt-S.
