:o Oh my… I’m not going to comment your current model, but I’m saying you’re pictures are original and beautiful. That style would make a great illustration to a book or something.
What’s your texture secret, any tips and tricks for us newbies?
The textures are very nice and so are your modeling skills, but don’t you think your going a little towards the extreme with the shape of her head/hair?
Just a comment it might be your style, but it is usually better looker if you don’t overdo it too much.
But I like it, good to see some good body modeling skills amongst the Blenderheads
MoreK.
hey dude.
thanks for the positive feeds.
i think it helps an extreme amount to look at
texturing as an extension of painting and nothing more.
if you were drawing your character on paper,
what details would you give her? just go free with it.
one thing that helped quite a bit was unwrapping the figuring and assigning it UVs in what was once LithUnwrap but is now Unwrap 3D. the Unwrap 3D version is only $30 and it unwraps thing a hell of a lot better than Blender. After that it’s just coloring in and out of the lines
you already sculpted with Blender.
layers too. use lots of layers. photoshop/gimp’s layer lighting (ie, hard light, soft light, color burn) add tremendous POW and realism to your painted texture.

i exported the model as a .DXF from blender,
took it into UW 3D, unwrapped and textured it, exported it as a
.COB (truespace file) took it into truespace then exported it from truespace as a .VRML 2.
if you bought a PUB License, Blender 2.25 reads the UVs 100% accurately…
unfortunately i’ve had weird resaults with 2.23.
oh c’mon!
you guys can’t tell me that
if the Queen of all Fungi walked into your
room and started wiggling her
head-appendage shroom thing with a fat
smile on her face that you wouldn’t just love it.
she’s got assets man!
oh well, guess you have to be part fungi to understand.
I have been a closet homofungi for too long. dickie, you have forced me out of the closet. I am now ready to tell everyone, I LOVE FUNGI, AND I AM PROUD OF IT
hey dickie, wow, that chracter is so creative and original man! great texturing…i think the head is beautiful, especially on the awesome long neck… so whats this short animation gonna be of dickie??
long time no speak to, see ya later :o

Wow that seems like a lot of steps - can’t you just export it to a JPG or something from UW 3D?
i’m not gonna lay out the script not until it’ done anyway, just for that whole intense taking-it-all-in-one-big-breath-factor. but basically here’s what’s going to happen:
-you’ll see her on a cold blue/green stalagmite-esque throne in the middle of a hollowed out cavern turned palace.
-there will be emotive flashes of her face, eyes, etc., a la American Comics.
-the camera will pan and zoom in and out to reveal her loyal subjects,
a swarm of swaying mushrooms with male faces.
-there’s more too but i think i’ll save the rest for the super-short-short.
if you mean just exporting the UV Map 9for painting, etc.) then yeah, you can export it as .TGA… the unwrapped model though, you’ve gotta find a way to take it out of UV Unwrapper and place it back into Blender.
Wings .OBJ support is supposed to be improved in most the recent version… so maybe export it as an .OBJ and then take it into wings and then export it as a .VRML2… i dunno.
