sIBL GUI for Blender Released

Brilliant work.

This was great work - for those who have not read the wiki page, it breaks on more recent Blender versions due to what was reported as API changes.

I am not aware of other sIBL integration methods, unfortunately, but this was quite swift for earlier versions.

‘Blender Sensei’ has a paid plugin called ‘DNDENV’ that simplifies the import of sIBL files. I am trying out Sensei Format and I’m finding it very helpful.

Hi! This addon won’t be updated anymore?
I really love this but is so annoying to use atm…

I doubt very much it will be updated. I think if Blender gets godo HRDI handling in 2.8, which seems to at least be going some way to how Sibl GUI works, then it may become redundant.

But why is that? Blender is more popular and relevant than ever. Does sIBL itself is not actively developed anymore?
I hope 2.8 gets something like this. Using sIBL we get better render performance than using plain HDRI.

The things sIBL Gui did are getting more likely to be done natively, so really, it’s not actually needed as much.

Thank you colkai! I really hope so.
Can’t wait for 2.8!
