Siddhartha is a novel by Herman Hesse. It is about a man that is the son of a Brahman. He goes on a life journey to discover his self and find enlightenment. It is a really great book and I would recommend you read it.
Anyway, I picked up the task to recreate a scene from this book that was a choice of assignments in my english class. This scene shows Siddhartha meditating on the raft while the sun is rising, giving the idea he was there all night. It is mostly done and this is the state at which I turned it in. There is still a lot of room for improvement. Any suggestions?
Its looks cool but bring the scale of the texture for the water down.
The grass is a bit uniform, the tree trunks look awesome but the leaves are also much too uniform.
Turn down the specularity on his clothing.
And although you’ve used an image I suspect, the area where the sun is visible should be much brighter.

Thanks for the feedback. I will try to fix those things. One thing though is that I can’t figure how to have the grass cast a shadow. I’ve looked for a way on the internet but have not found anything.
Another thing I found wrong with the image is that I accidentally left the default lamp in the scene! After deleting it everything is very dark. I can’t believe I didn’t notice it was there >.>
