Siggraph/Blender Presentation at Adelaide Uni (Thursday, May 29th)

Heres an article which has just been posted on Blendernation.

Im currently studying at Adelaide uni, and never expected this to happen!
So im very much looking forward to thursday.

Is anyone else going from this forum?? It would be great to meet some other blenderheads. I only know one other person whos into blender, so ill have to bring him along to.

i wish i could go. you should try to get on the videotrace team thats being developed at adilade uni. it may open up alot of jobs for you later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vda2RAEuW_g

Yeh I’ve seen that a few times. Went to a lecture on an open day last year and they showed it. Very impressive stuff.

Hey AD-Edge, thanks for posting this, i just came here to do it, and you beat me too it.

just wondering, would you mind editing the Title of the post and putting the date in?

I already have the main program sorted out, but i have now been given an hour to talk now… so if anyone have any thing specific they would like to see, let me know asap.

be good to see you all there, Levon

I’d come, 'cept I’m in Melbourne at the moment. Don’t have anything particular happening though (no school, no work, at the moment), so I suppose I could travel over specially, except that I probably wouldn’t have anywhere to stay :stuck_out_tongue: (and it’s not a day trip I feel like making ;)).

Anyway, have fun :).

I expect Big Buck Bunny to become the mascot of open source. It obviously has the same iconic quality as Tux, the Linux penguin.

wouw. amazing

Yeh, sure. Not a prob.

Whats the main focus of the presention? Is it more animation/modeling/tools of blender based or will there be stuff about the GE and perhaps Apricot stuff to?
Im not to familiar with Siggraph, but as long as it has anything about Blender i think everyone will be very happy.

edit Just read your post on Blendernation, sounds good! I havent had a chance to properly look at the cloth or hair systems (or the new particle system for that matter) So that will be very interesting.
