Silent Celestial Symphony

Hello everyone!

I’m happy to share my latest piece, a ringed planet surrounded by smaller worlds! I focused on composition, scale, and the overall balance between the orbiting elements, aiming to create a scene that inspires a sense of wonder and invites viewers to imagine exploring this distant planetary system.

I like to imagine the sunsets there would be something else.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed it!

Best regards,

This looks really good, would it be possible for you to share some more details on how you made it? I would be interested in learning more about how you create these types of renders.

Thank you very much! Yeah, I wanted a gas giant with rings so I could explore multiple celestial features in a single piece, especially since I don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to this hobby. I also avoided giving it a Great Red Spot because that would make it instantly recognizable as Jupiter. I wanted it to feel more like a mysterious, unknown planet instead.

Thanks, I’d be happy to share!

I usually spend a lot of time gathering references before I even open Blender, mostly to figure out the composition, lighting, and mood I want. From there, it’s a lot of experimentation as the scene gradually evolves.

For these space renders, I don’t use HDRIs. I prefer a Sun light and a few Area lights because they give me more control over the look. All of the materials in this piece were procedural, and the background was built by blending together multiple star fields and nebula textures.

I’m not aiming for perfect scientific accuracy either. I push the scene toward realism only until it starts getting in the way of beauty, while still trying to keep it believable enough to preserve the immersion. For me, it’s always more about conveying an idea and emotion than perfectly recreating reality.

Finally, I almost always do some finishing touches in Photoshop, mainly sharpening, adjusting the levels, and enhancing the colors. A lot of the final image comes from experimenting and making small tweaks until everything feels right.

Hello! Yes, I used Blender’s node system to create the materials procedurally. The only textures I used in this piece are for the star background, which I used to create the nebulae I wanted.

Glad to hear it! I was tweaking the colors for quite a while, so I’m glad it paid off!

It has a gentle, calm mood that’s hard to explain. Nicely done, the composition is top notch :ok_hand:
