Silhouette

Okay, every time I try to render my head, I only manage to get a silhouette, even if I have a spotlight pointed directly at it. This does not occur when I render a house shaped object; only when I try to render my head. Any particular reason this happens?

It also takes forever and a day for it to actually render the image. I’m trying to correct this by using one of my Moms old external hard drives to move all my music and movies off of my laptop and provide more space, but I have no idea if this will actually help.

In addition, while Blender tries to render an image, my computer seizes up for several seconds, during which I can only move my mouse across the screen, nothing else. This situation only occurs over a period of several milliseconds, but it happens multiple times and it rather annoying in inconvenient. Will the external hard drive solution I’ve come up with help with this at all?

Any help with this would be appreciated!

If the shading is all one color and you are looking at it from top view [7] then it will appear a silhouette, but if you rotate in 3D you should see it differently. If that isn’t the problem, then it’s possible it isn’t one piece but a bunch of connecting pieces and they are below the surface level. If still a no, then I have no idea.

No, not when I’m editing it. When I try to render it into an image. If I hit F12 to render it, the image is only a silhouette. The camera isn’t pointed at it straight down, but from the side at an angle. When I look through the camera, I see it just fine. It’s when I try to create an image that the problem occurs.

Either a) your camera isn’t seeing the object or b) there’s no light hitting your object. Could be the light is to far away, the spot actually isn’t hitting the object, it’s slightly off.

also check your World light

may be you avhe environment light too low or somethng like that !

Hopefully, ya’ll can make it light up.

You’re in Local view. Press Numpad / to get out, and the lamp will show up.

Awesome, you fixed it! Thanks!

you need to add a lamp in front of the head

between camera and object so you ahve light there

with only lamp in the back it does not illuninate the face only the back head

hope it helps
