Silver Coin

Hello all,
Is there anybody who made a silver coin.
It must be a foto realistic coin for a TV commercial.

Who can help me… and yourself, if it is what i need you’ll get payed so…

Kind regards,

Scotch

Scotch,

You need to get a hold of images for texturing the coin (color and same image tweaked for the bump/displacement).
Do you have the images or it can be any generic coin? What specific time period (new or weathered)?
Modeling for that sounds pretty simple. If it´s going to be EXTREME close-up, one might need to model the details.

Hope this info helps to get this job on the right track.

Sounds good! I think I can probabaly do what you need (if it’s anything like what I am picturing). Send me/post the details for what you need, and I’ll see what I can do.

Here’s an image of a quick coin I made using a scan of a 1975 Canadian Siller Dollar

Using a quality image it’s fairly simple to texture it onto the coin mesh

The difficulty is in getting the edge to match between the two faces, but unlesss you need an animated coin, you should be able to choose an angle that doesn’t show the flaw.

Thanks guys for your reactions, and Rage thStage your coins look great.

The jobs already done.

If you check out the dvGarage- http://www.dvgarage.com/ -website you will see that 3d artist can create any photorealistic texture by modifying photographs through the extraction and blending of various parts of images together. Often 3d professionals don’t have the time to track down an image for a texture. So it is good to know how to make a texture by combining various images that you have in you texture database.

dvGarage is a great 3d resource that is often overlooked by 3d professionals.
