Simple 3D modelling inquiry

Hello

I have an odd question to ask.

I’m wanting to make some 3D models of various comic book characters for a game on Table Top Simulator (allows a person to play various miniature games and board games)

I’m guessing that I don’t need to learn how to make a 3D model of a muscular human body since I’m sure there are a ton out there for free or to purchase. However, what I’d like to know if it’s possible to add a skin or mesh to that model using Blender. I’m sure it is, but for my needs, is Blender too much? Are there other programs maybe a little more user friendly that I can accomplish this?

More than willing to put in the time and effort if you think Blender is the best option.

I appreciate any advice offered.

Thanks

You might want to look into software like http://www.makehuman.org, it lets you create customised characters using sliders not unlike videogame character creators, but then you can import them into Blender for the finer editing. The bodies are generated fully rigged too, a big time saver.

I’m not entirely sure what you need so I’ll throw everything I know off here
