I was just trying out a simple architecural scene to teach myself some of the better methods to use. I’m getting a strange shading problem with the early renders, though, and I was hoping someone could help me figure out why. I’ve ruled out double vertices and incorrect normals, and I just can’t think of any other reasons for this. If anyone has an idea I’d appreciate it.
In case anyone was curious and/or has had the same issue I was having, the problem was that I had the faces below the arch set to smooth on accident. Apparently the shading gets a little weird when you put a flat face to smooth.
For anyone who’s curious I’ve also continued working on the scene. I’ve attached a few renders. Suggestions on the architecture and modeling techniques welcome.
