Hi there!
I started learning Blender yesterday and I managed to finish this last night. Overall I’m satisfied with the outcome although it’s very very basic.
Some comments and criticism would be appreciated!
Thanks for reading,
Ryan.

Very nice. I think the wine needs to be more translucent and more light coming through it, to get it more photo real.
Very good first effort!
My comments would be that the wine glass seems too chunky right now. Depending on what you are aiming for, the glass seems to have a little too much colour - that’s not typical of real wine glasses, but you may be modelling coloured ones…I don’t know
Thank you, I agree with your suggestion and I will take it into account for my next project!
Looking back now, I certainly agree with you. It was not was I was aiming for but I will admit I am not so familiar with wine glasses as I’m not a drinker of wine. Perhaps I should have studied an image prior to the design. Thank you!
Geez…that makes my first attempt seem so bleh. Nice.
I think there are some simple things that can be improved:
One thing, that`s been already said is the color of the glass, that should be more transparent. I realized, that cycles is using not totally white by default for the glass color, changing this to totally white gives you the typical glass look.
The thickness of the glass should be reduced, because good wine-glasses are thin! Maybe add another edge loop on the top, to get a sharper edge.
Hope this helps.
Thank you Vince, I will take your advice into account on my next render.
Really? Thanks! I’d love to see your first attempt!
