Simple lighting for architectural visualization

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone here would be able to help me out. I’ve been trying to find a way to get a simple, flat (no highlights or change of shade on a single plane, though with cast shadows), overall lighting for a project I’m working on, but all my attempts up to this point have failed. I did a quick google, and it should be something sort of similar to the overview pictures of this page: http://www.digitalarts.dk/2007/04/robledillo/

One problem is that I need to keep lighting contrast inside the building too, so you can see where walls change, etc. An alternative for this would be rendering the edges, but I haven’t found a way to do that either.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

For the external shots, try using a sun lamp with Ray Shadow and No Specular enabled, and ambient occlusion to help with the indirect lighting. You’ll need to use more lights inside to get the look you want.
