Simple Ocean Scene

If you have seen my WIP thread, this probably won’t look much different. Most of my time has been spent on little tweaks here and there to achieve enough realism that the average Joe who sees it won’t think about it too much. The video (which is actually a looping 8 second clip) will be a promotional animated background on the website I am working on. The tricky business is that if it looks too CG, it becomes too much of a focus, and detracts from it’s purpose of being ancillary to the website. I’m taking a risk here, but most Joes I have asked, assumed it was filmed.

Essentially, I’ve spent hours insuring that viewers WON’T appreciate it for being digitally created. haha

Anyway, this is part 1 in a series of 4 (so far). Next up will be a tropical forest, followed by a dry desert scene, and then a deciduous forest. These will all have a common theme.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice scene, well done.
Only wondering why you went with a white letterbox or is that just the fill from youtube on a different ratio?

Thank you.

As for the white letterbox; The video is at a 2.35:1 ratio, so I thought I’d be clever and match the letterbox color to the website background so you wouldn’t see the letterbox. Well it turns out YouTube tints the color slightly darker when processing.

Great work, very convincing!
