Going through blender book and I notice ‘intersect’ button is no longer on F9 menu. Any ideas where I can find this?
The “Intersect” button has been replaced by booleans, which are easier to use, and (margionally) less crash-prone
select 2 seperate meshes out of edit mode and hit WKey
Some smart guy has decided to remove the “Intersect” tool when blender got open-sourced, and people STILL did not put it back. I will mention that at the next developer meeting.
For the time being, you have to use 2.25 to be able to use the intersect tool.
Is that when you have two objects and the inner intersection is messing with your graphics of the second?
Cuz I got that problem, I’m using 2.25, and booleans crash the program for me.
How do I use intersects?
booleans isn’t implimented in 2.25
i sugest you use 2.28 for booleans, and to my knowledge the intersect button is still in 2.25

I guess that would explain the crashing… LOL!
After reading the thread that fligh% refers to, its just as well because it seems as if booleans are for cutting holes in the mesh?
I guess I have to go in and manually delete the vertices that are interfering with the rendering in the game engine. because for some reason my intersect button doesnt do anything. Probably user error somewhere along the way :o
I use 225 so as to have the Game Engine… Static 3D can be nice to look at, but I would prefer to drive a spider around inside something and poke at things… LOL!
Hence 225 is for me.
uhmmm… I am correct in understanding that the Game Engine doesnt work in 228, right?
The booleans in Blender suck as of now. I THINK that someone is working on them tho. I remember seeing a post by BgDm over on the Blender.org forums asking whether or not this was the case. I THINK that someone responded but said that he was not an experienced enough coder to do much with them. I’ll see if I can find the post and provide a link…
:edit: yep, found it!

Any news on this?
I’d like to see it back.
I don’t see why people keep saying use booleans instead. Booleans are volume tools in blender. Intersect was a surface tool and had uses which booleans cannot do.
