Skinning acts weird

Hello,
I’m trying to make a complicate form with dupliframes. I started from 1 nurbs circle and made it into some kind of clover form. Than dupliframed it while changing size and location. These are the results in all views.

Now I try skinning and the result is this

I started form 1 NURBS object so the number of control points is the same.
I started from a circle so the curve is closed.

I thought I did al the right things.

Anybody have a clue?

looks like you need more resolution in that direction

the option to change it is in the edit buttons

[but they confuse me somewhat, so beyond that I can’t say much]
