Sky box / sky dome in 2.79, and Verge3D?


I’ve been testing out Verge3D lately and I’d like to start incorporating background elements in my apps. One of those elements being a sky box.

I think I’m using the term correctly? I can’t seem to find any resources for creating an optimized sky box, or sky dome. Could one of you wonderful people send me a link(s)?

Or, is it as simple as applying an HDRI texture to a low-poly sphere?
