Im new to the game engine part of Blender. I want to do some outside, Ghost Recon type stuff. I saw the tutorial on a rendered image in the engine, how would I just put a rendered sky like in a skydome type thing, in my game? I got a flat plain textured with ground, do I add a dome or something? Also can I use the noise displacement map type thing to generate the terrain, will this show up smooth in the engine? Thanks
if you understand the concepts of uv texturing it isn’t much beyond that, just it is no longer a flat surface but a cube or dome (or whatever shape you decide to make it)
yeah, using noise and a procedural will alter the mesh which will work alwright in the game engine, except for having lots of polygons. Consider reducing the number of them (perhaps on a copy of the mesh) with the decimator slider in the edit button (press apply to keep).
watch out though, if you have too many polygons to begin with the decimator gets really slow
