Skylight on reflective floor

Hi, I’m trying to achieve something like the image above. A closed room with skylights being the only source of light, and the floor is black and reflective. I have tried thousand of different ways and I don’t get close. Could someone help me out? Thx

It would be interesting to know what approach you tried so far to help you better. It’s not clear what is not working for you, is it the light falloff, the floor’s reflection, or something else?

I did a quick rough test, I can’t think of any issue:

At a casual glance, I’d say you’re going to need a bumpy normalmap, decently reflective roughness/spec maps, and a sun lamp with a highish angle.

could you share the file?

Quick test :

  • Use concrete texture from textures.com
  • Darken the color Map
  • Contrast the routhness map (to have some sharpen reflection, but also larger light zone)
  • Use a low value for the strength of the normal map to have flat reflection, and to not have to many dark zone in the reflection)
  • And I also use diffuse blue light to have not to dark zone.

There you go.
You need to add a roughness map.

It is the first time I try to pack texture file in a blend file. If there is problem, tell me and I will share the textures files to.
