Hello, I’m pretty new to Blender and I just started learning how to model and animate in Blender. I have a pretty good computer and I’m curious if anyone else is having the same problem as me? When I create a walk cycle or animation, when I attempt to play the animation back in the Blender 3D interface to test out the animation, it seems to drag and move very slow, almost as if it’s in slow motion. The more complex the character design the harder it is to pose the character. My question is there anyway of fixing this?
Hi,
Use the Timeline window. You can Sync Playback to Frames/Sec to make Blender skip frames to maintain the speed of playback.
Sorry for not being clearer. Thats the part that I’m talking about, Timeline window. To be a little clearer, I purchased the book, “Introducing Character Animation With Blender.” The modeled character used Captain Blender, when I attempt to animate him, or even grab an armature bone and move it, my mouse reads right away and the armature part will follow about 1-2 seconds after. Not smooth like it ussually is. When I go to click the play button, the animation looks like it’s in slow motion instead of playing back at normal speed.
Thanks for the help.
Make sure when your animating, to keep the polys to a minimum, so either disable all subsurfs, or put them to one.
