Small outliner troubles

Accidentally blocked out my outliner, and used shift+f9 to restore it as people said to online. Now, the entire layout workspace is an outliner (example shown). Everywhere I try to drag just creates more outliners. How can I get the original setup back with the view taking up the main screen and the outliner in the top right? Thanks!

Hi,

Just reset your settings to factory ones as shown on the screenshot below:

Or just place your cursor on the edge of the window until your mouse cursor will switch to a cross, hold LMB and move your mouse to the right side, that will create a new window, where you can change its area to 3D vieport as shown below:

But I think in your case it is best to just reset settings to the factory ones.

Sorry, I should have just used my actual file instead of the default cube example (I don’t want to reset the entire file for the actual one). I didn’t realize that little dropdown could change to literally any window, so thanks! I got it to work now.

No worries, just check out how to split/create windows areas in Blender:

You just need to figure out how that thing works and then it’ll be easy for you to restore closed workspace windows, split and create them.
