Hi there,
I built this Addon/Extension because I’d been wondering for years why Blender can’t just undo what I have selected. Undo is one linear stack, so it always takes back everything — you tweak a light, then a material, hit Ctrl+Z twice, and it rolls back the wrong thing.
SmartUndo+ puts scoped undo on Ctrl+Alt+Z, next to Ctrl+Z, which stays untouched. It reads your context first: geometry in Edit Mode, one stroke in Sculpt, the node tree under your cursor while the mesh stays put, a single F-Curve channel in the Graph Editor. Select ten objects and all ten step back, each on its own track.
Plus a history panel in the N sidebar, a pie menu on Ctrl+Alt+Y, and named checkpoints saved in the .blend. Not tracked yet: sim caches, particles, cloth, fluids, grease pencil.
