There’s a new SMD exporter for Blender 2.5x. As of posting it’s in 0.5.1.

I had trouble getting it to work (I probably did something wrong), but I thought that this new script aught to get a bit more exposure.

Edit: I cannot get the SMD panel to show.

Sorry to bump this, but I figured out where the SMD export options are. They are at the bottom of the scene panel.

A good place to put it really.
