smoke & fire looks good in editor, but really crappy in render (?)

Hey,
I’m trying to get some fire-animation working, by more or less following this: http://www.3dartistonline.com/news/2013/01/tutorial-blender-2-65-smoke-effects/
The fire looks (like in the tutorial) kind of cool in the editor window, with the smoke and fire being all translucent and stuff, but as soon as I render there’s merely an orange & white blob on the screen, that’s all.

Why exactly is it that it looks good in preview but shitty in the render, and where did I go wrong? Any ideas?

see my .blend in the attachment.

thanks

Select the domain “Cube” and go to the material panels.
In the Integration subpanel change StepSize to 0.002 as the tutorial says to have a better render.

Before doing that it was just a really ugly collection of dots. After doing that it is just a really ugly blob, that appears to be in some kind of box (see the picture). Even after I turned up the Smoke resolution from 32 to 100, and changed the fire texture.

Something must be terribly wrong, I just don’t get what.
