Smoke Noise

For some reason, whenever I render smoke it always look noisesy when the smoke gets thin. What is causing this?

just lower the step size in the materials panrl until it fits. Note that the render time rises the lower the stepsize is, so do not use a too low stepsize. Also note that you should animate the stepsize while flying through volumetrics, to save a lot of rendertime.
