Smoke not working

I have been making a scene where a warhead gets destroyed into pieces and have smoke trails.When i try putting smoke in,the shards dont emit any.I have two particle system,one for the explode modifier and one for the smoke trails.Even if i delete the explode modifier particle system,it will still not emit any smoke.I do have domain box and the warhead is animated.Pls help

To make it real simple, hit Spacebar and type in Quick Smoke. Everything is set up for you that way and you can tweak as you like.

Otherwise… With a particle system selected, in the modifier tab make sure your particle system is above the smoke modifier. In the Physics tab, have your flow source use your particle system.

edit- BAH!: Just reloaded a smoke sim with baked frames and my smoke didn’t work either. Divisions area was greyed out. Had to free the bake and re-bake it. I changed the animation length post-bake to 1 frame from 80, only thing I can think of that borked the simulation on re-load.

thanks for reply,my smoke is correctly placed under the smoke but I also have another particle system for the explode modifier.I will upload my blend file shortly
