Smoke simulation casts transparent cube?

I am not 100% sure this issue is caused by my smoke domain as I have a collision object, a mesh object, and a boolean cube that moves through the scene to reveal something under the smoke simulation. I can say the weird hazy cube only disappears when the smoke domain itself is disabled in render so I am almost positive it is the reason. It also appears to stretch throughout the scene.

I think maybe initially it was an adaptive domain, I think I also applied the scale for some reason at a point. I’ve been using this project to learn smoke simulations so I have worked on it quite a bit, apologies for not having more info.

This issue is extremely hard to find an answer to as every type of wording I have tried to search results in people who have a smoke domain just rendering grey. This is not that same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
