Smoke simulation difficulties

Hey

Is it possible with a smoke sim, i set sphere object to fog particle?

Now i can see fog particles going through domain like usuall, but the smoke is actually happening fully in cloesd domain.

So there is 2 types of particles

  1. the source where particles came from (stright line through domain with no collisions) - there all all my spheres.
  2. Reall smoke particles interacting with forces and obstacles (displayed on render as smoke) - that’s the place i want spheres to be and rendered as spheres on image.

I use Vista 64 and this blender version http://graphicall.org/82

Is there way to read smoke BPHYS file in notepad.
Im interested what’s inside it but i don’t understand this language as in example:

Looks like the character decoding is wrong…

I tested 4 decodings in notepad but forexample UTF8 looks different in notepad, but still weird:

Okey dokey

I have been tuning the material for small scale white thick smoke.
3cm 1cm and 0,5cm cubes

1. Test
Density: 0.000001
Density Sca: 6000
Scattering: 30000
Emission: 0
Asymmetry: 0
Transmission: 1
Reflection: 1
Step Size: 0.00001
Depth Cutoff: 0.000001
1’st image noise from intersecting with floor.

2. Test
Too much of density Sca or and scattering is too low. Need to get it whiter.

3. Test
No good

Who knows how to calculate scattering Asymmetry from this data?
p(θ) at 5° = 10
p(θ) at 20° = 0,8
p(θ) at 45° = 0,2
p(θ) at 135° = 0,02

What’s going on here?

http://static3.nagi.ee/i/p/809/98/202497298c318f_m.jpg

10x smaller step size (1mm) and 0,0001 cutoff
10x smaller voxel texture intensity.

One thing more.
Is the flat projection correct for voxel data dexture for smoke render?

It seems the quick cache enabled is better.

I think the voxel texture system is broken for smoke.

Weird thing, i disabled light cache for smoke domain.
1st thing was that material preview started rendering previews.
2nt i hit F12 to render but now Blender is not responding and ofcorse there is no error log window in Blender 2.5 / 2.6

I did read about smoke rendering is not possible in Blender 2.59 and up.
Downloaded now rev 36600 from may 10 in 2011, hope it works. http://graphicall.org/161

Nope this didn’t work afterall.
I better forgett this simulation for a while and come back in few months.
