Smoke Simulator in BGE?

The blender smoke simulator makes wonderfull fire and explosion effects, and I wan’t to bring some of these into the game engine. is there a way to use a baked smoke simulation into the game engine?

You can aslo use particles, as in flat planes with an alpha channel image applied, emited from an empty, and given some movement. Pretty convincing, and quite common. That’s basically solarlune’s xemiter setup if I remember correctly.
