Smoke_Thickness in Viewport

Gooseberry build of blender used feature called “Thickness” in properties panel.

It simply displayed smoke more dense.
Specially smoke with hires become very light (almost invisible in viewport).
Since many of us (of what I noticed) use rendering smoke directly from viewport (just its very fast), this “Thickness” was very useful.

Does anybody know what is the reason it wasn’t included in official build?

BTW - I can’t find the Gooseberry builds, previously stored here
I found only repository of older official builds
Does exist a link to them?
