Smooth Lighting Creases

When modeling an anvil I copied and flipped the best section to make it symmetrical, but after filling and dissolving vertices I noticed some harsh creasing in the shadows on smooth shading(image below) and the smoothing options are really messed up.

Is there anyway to fix the current object?

Or can I convert the joined mesh into a new mesh with the same points but new data?

In Edit Mode, select everything and recalculate the normals (CTRL+N).
