Smooth

Probably should be on the wishlist, but would it be possible to create a new modifier which works like the Smooth function in the Wkey? Something which spreads out the vertices of the modified vertex keys. Could be useful when placed at armature joints. Armature deforms the mesh, smooth averages out the crinkles. Ideally with a strength setting for specifying how much smoothing takes place. Might be an easier alternative to weight painting. :wink:
Don’t know a thing about coding, though. So it might be as simple as cutting out the code for smooth and rewriting that to work as a modifier or it might require a major coding effort. Nice to get some feedback from those with knowledge on such things…

So it’s not extremely complicated? Would it be possible to create a new type of modifier (like an empty, lattice, hook or armature) whose sole purpose is to smooth vertex groups or nearby vertices that it is linked to? How useful would it be? It’s really hard to get wrinkle free meshes with armature deformed meshes right now…
