smoothen vertex curves

Hi
I want to smoothen a transition on an aircraft from the body to the wings. The transition is there but the curves are to rough. Is there a function to smoothen vertex curves or such? Instead of manually adjusting all those points could I use some helping functions?
Thanks
Michael

There’s a “smooth” button on the first mesh tools panel in the edit buttons in edit mode, in the same block as “beauty | short | subdivide” and above the giant EXTRUDE button.

This will only help if you already have enough vertexes in the area to make a smooth line, which it sounds like you do. I found it really useful when I was making big changes to various spacecraft fuselage parts on a project that will probably show up on here in a few days … Note that it will tend to shrink the area being smoothed a bit, so you might have to scale it back up and twiddle it around afterward, but it does make your curves nicer generally.

Yeah, “smooth” is an opinion although I would actually recommend to use subsurf modelling for the stuff you do. It gives you more control over a) the smoothing itself and b) the vertices, since you have to use less and still get a nice result.

You could also use the knife to cut several edges then apply the smooth thing this should help to smooth out the transition.
