Is there a way to place an object a certain distance from a point? Such as, I want to place some brackets a certain distance in from the corners of a box. How do I get them all the same distance?

When draging/moving your object hold down the ctrl button, ctrl when moving stuff, extruding, draging verticies, rotating etc… is quite handy for presice movement.
