Snap to polygon center (with align axis to poly normal)

Hello,
I’m trying to snap pivot to the center of polygon with aligning axis to polygon normals.
Have a simple sphere, randomly moved and rotated in space.
When I trying to snap something to polygon center it snap only to polygon and with weird gizmo normals. It can be a 3D cursor either.

If I just select polygon with “Transform orientation - Normal” it look like all OK with gizmo normals

So 2 questions:

  1. How to snap to polygon center? and
  2. How to get proper gizmo normals?

To snap to polygon center:
Option 1:

  • in edit mode, select the face, snap 3D cursor to it
  • in object mode, do a Object -> Set Origin -> Origin to 3D Cursor

Option 2:

  • in object mode, enable Transform Option ‘Origins’
  • using vertex snapping, and multiple snap targets, move origin and snap to two opposite vertices of the target face

To get “proper” orientation, the only reliable way is to:

  • in edit mode, select the face and create a custom transform orientation
  • in object mode (with ‘Origins’ still enabled) do a Object -> Transform -> Align to Transform Orientation
